Ashley Hence is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She completed her undergraduate at the University of Central Arkansas and her Masters at The University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Ms. Hence has twelve years of experience in mental health, with the belief in the potential to change and grow. She believes in partnering with clients to meet goals and has spent many years working with adults, adolescents, and children. As a practitioner, Ms. Hence believes in using effective and established treatment methods. Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT) therapy is utilized in her practice.
Ms. Hence has worked with serious and chronic mental health diagnoses in inpatient and residential settings, as well as a non-profit agencies, private practice, and community counseling agencies. These have included The Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County in Plano and providing in home case management with Youth Advocate Programs of Dallas.
At The Children’s Advocacy Center Ms. Hence worked with adults, teens, children, families, and couples who have been affected by sexual/physical abuse and neglect. Her work included helping clients develop healthy coping skills, strengthening family relationships, and addressing communication struggles. Ms. Hence also worked for The Department of Rehabilitation Counselor as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor who has specialty training in working with men, women and adolescents with physical and mental disabilities.
Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges in a warm, trusting and supportive atmosphere. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. She believes that addressing the emotional, spiritual, mental and physical aspect of the individual is the basis of effective treatment.
